11 stycznia 1943 roku broń trafiła do uzbrojenia US Army jako standardowy pistolet maszynowy M3.

The M3 Submachine Gun, known colloquially as the “Grease Gun”, is the American Submachine Cal. 11.43 mm - .45 ACP. It was developed in 1942 as a projected replacement for the Thompson Submachine Gun by George Hyde and Frederick Sampson. Because the M3 closely resembled the grease guns commonly used in American auto repair shops at that time, US soldiers nicknamed the M3 the “Grease Gun”. It entered US Army inventory as the standard Submachine Gun on 11 January 1943.
This replica weapon is available to be ordered.
